Mehrnaz and Ashkan’s Persian destination wedding in Riviera Maya was a celebration of love, family, and tradition. As their photographer, it was an honor to capture the beauty of their special day, which was filled with rich cultural customs and rituals.
The couple exchanged vows in a stunning ceremony that incorporated Persian traditions, such as the Sofreh Aghd, a table set with symbolic items that represent different aspects of marriage and life together. The ceremony was presided over by a Vazir, or marriage officiant, who led the couple through the various elements of the Sofreh Aghd.
As the bride, Mehrnaz was a vision in her traditional Persian gown, which was adorned with intricate beading and embroidery. Her hair was styled in an elegant updo, and she wore a stunning piece of jewelry known as a tara, which symbolizes the crown of the bride.
Throughout the day, the couple and their guests also participated in various Persian customs, such as the knife dance and the tearing of the bride’s veil. These rituals added an extra layer of meaning and depth to the already emotional occasion.
All of these elements combined to create a wedding that was both beautiful and meaningful. From the stunning location in Riviera Maya to the rich traditions of their Persian heritage, Mehrnaz and Ashkan’s wedding was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
